I got my plastic retainers!

So today I went in and got my plastic, clear retainers. They're already a pain in the ass, but I gotta wear them straight for 2 months and then I'll be able to wear them every night. Man. This sucks. Braces life is seriously getting to me already. You can't really see them far away but up close you can, and also I have a pretty notable lisp.

11th of April, 2016. The day I got my braces off.

So today was the day. 

The whole procedure was 1 and a half hours - and it was pretty, pretty painful. 

Annoying, long, uncomfortable and quite wincingly painful.

I'm sure if you search up videos online or read on the Internet - you'll know what the procedures are but. God damn it felt surreal getting my braces off. Just then after brushing my teeth in my nightly routine was when I JUST got the reality that my braces were removed and I have straight teeth.

There's still quite a little bit more to do - I need to make sure all the little white spots on my teeth are removed and whiten them the fuck out so I get pure, pearly whites. Hopefully I get the whitened before school so I come back with super white, bleached teeth. That's literally my ultimate goal right now. Next week I gotta come in for my retainers and (can't wait for the lisps yay...) For now - enjoy the photos.

10th of April, 2016

My LAST day in braces! 

Tomorrow morning, at 9:05am - the appointment for my braces being removed will happen. And I will have no more braces. I've literally, been waiting all my life for this moment. The moment I will have straight, clean teeth. 

Definitely going to go whiten them before holidays are over so I go back to school with pearly whites.

Just less than 12 days until I get my braces off... Oh my god, I just want them off now! 

25/03/16 - When you eat a salted caramel choctop

87 Weeks, 24/03/16

And Had my second last orthodontist appointment with my metal brackets. 

There's just one more appointment, just 8 days, 2 and a half more weeks until my braces are off.

However, I won't be metal free. They made me mold my teeth with the minty, green, weird hard gummy cement thing so they could create impressions for my metal retainers to bond behind my front and bottom teeth. I reckon when my braces are off, I'll have to do those molds again for the plastic retainers... It feels so weird. It feels invasive on your cheek, your top mouth and it's like I wanna choke but I can't? 

I'll have two wire retainers bonded at the back of my front and bottom teeth, so it reassures that it doesn't shift back or move anywhere - but this will be fine since I'll be smiling and no one will be able to see that metal wire anyways. It'll be weird though... Having a metal wire at the back of your teeth, a subtle reminder that I used to have horrible teeth. I'll also be having the clear plastic retainers as normal. I'm excited. And nervous. But mostly excited. Hopefully my teeth will look big and there won't be any marks!! 

And hopefully, the next time I'll be writing a post like this - my braces are off. I'll be smiling and typing and taking a wonderful braces free photo!

Less than a month left!

Just over a week left so they could check up on my teeth, and just less than a month until my braces are going to pulled off. I've never been so keen for something. Well - maybe I have. 11th of April is just the start of the two week holiday, really it's perfect. So I have time to adjust on my lisp with the retainers and I can get it whitened on the last day of the holiday so when I get back to school - I'm transformed! Pretty excited, if only the day could come quicker. 

But then again I need to study for my exams and that's just really scary. 

84 Weeks - March, 2nd 2016

Made two appointments:

An appointment in 4 weeks to just double check everything.

And another appointment in 2 weeks to get my braces off. I'm so excited. I can almost taste my braces being off.

I just got a grey colour this time, something plain and simple. Didn't want anything bold or out there. The date I'll be getting my braces of is approx. 6 weeks from now, on the 11th of April, 2016. So close... Yet so far away. 

There's still just a little bit more adjustments to do, little things here and there. I just can't wait for when my braces are off. I'll seriously be so happy.

I'm so grateful that my family are able to pay off my braces, because honestly I wouldn't have gotten these a year and a half ago if I couldn't afford it. My family has payed a great portion of the braves, and I've been paying it off myself bit by bit each appointment.

I'm so excited. I wish time can fly quickly, but I also wish it doesn't.

78 weeks - January 20th

Happy new year! 

Already 20 days have whizzed by so quickly this year.

I got red - for Valentines Day. This time, on the bottom it's the power chains again. No power chains on the top though. Apparently they want to straighten out my front teeth just a little bit. No elastics this round, but they hurt as ever. 

I don't know when I'll get mine off, though definitely before April. Which is just 4 months away... Almost 3 months. SO CLOSE.

I've almost payed off my balance for my braces - $200 LEFT!!!!

So close... I can almost taste it.

November 25th, 69 Weeks

Well I forgot to post when I had my appointment - but I guess I'll post some pictures afterwards? 

They took out the chain (YES) and I just have normal brackets/elastics that are blue (the previous ones made my teeth look yellow af) and they also made me wear only ONE elastic, on the left side AND ITS NOT A TRIANGLE ONE. YES.

The last photo, the braces look a little green (because I had a choctop, and it changes my braces colours)

So far, the elastic is shifting my left side very down, and the shift is quite noticeable. My left front tooth is lower compared to the right one, and there's more tension on my left. 

I'll be having an appointment in a week and a bit, and I might go... Dark blue? Yeah maybe I'll do that. I haven't gone that colour yet. I don't know how it'll look. We'll see.
